The proposed interior design for the JAICA Head Office in Sri Lanka embraces a biophilic approach, aimed at enhancing the spatial quality and promoting the well-being of the employees. By integrating natural elements into the workplace, the design creates an environment that fosters productivity, creativity, and overall wellness.
The entire office design is divided into three distinct segments: private, semi-private, and public spaces. These areas are carefully planned to ensure a smooth flow throughout the space, maintaining both functionality and privacy without disrupting the overall layout. The open-plan office environment takes center stage, offering co-working spaces, hot desking, and individual pods to encourage collaboration, flexibility, and focused work.
To further enhance the livable quality of the office, biophilic principles were seamlessly integrated into the design. Natural materials such as polished concrete floors, timber, cement finishes, glass, and steel were used to create a modern, yet grounded aesthetic. The neutral color palette, combined with an abundance of indoor plants, brings a touch of nature into the workspace, providing a more humane and comfortable atmosphere for the employees.
This design aims to create a balanced, harmonious workspace that not only meets the functional needs of the team but also nurtures their well-being, fostering a productive and positive environment for everyone who works there.
